Projects prepare students with the skills and competencies they need to be productive global citizens. Below are some skills and competencies that have been identified by international organizations.

Global Competencies, Asia Society

Global competence, defined by OECD, is “the capacity to examine global and intercultural issues, to take multiple perspectives, to engage in open, appropriate and effective interactions with people from different cultures and to act for collective well-being and sustainable development.” Classrooms and other learning environments can provide youth with opportunities to develop their global competencies and prepare them for a globally connected and interdependent future.
